Douglas Wood, or Uncle Doug as he is known to the team, joins the Ride To Recovery as our resident chef.
Originally form Glasgow, Doug joined the boys service in July 1977 before signing up to the 1st Battalion Royal Highland Fusiliers, July 1978.
After his time in the Military, Doug went on to train at chefs college in Glasgow, and became a head chef, before attending Glasgow Caledonian university where he graduated with a degree in hospitality management.
He and his family relocated to England in 1999, and he took on the post of commercial director for a catering firm.
Nutrition is of upmost importance during an event like this and thanks to Doug we can ensure that the team get the right food at the right times enabling them to get on with the task in hand.
